– February 8, 2023 – Growing up with a mother that had gone through years of abuse. Which made her easy prey, especially being alone with three children, for predators such as pimps or psychopaths. Not just ignorant thugs but also professional business managers from the manufacturing company she worked at.
Of course, I must leave out the horror of what happened before. But at seven the abusers got rid of dad and mom told me I had to be the man of the family.
Over the next 9 years I tried to show at least my younger brothers the value to a person’s life of being a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. Babysitting, mowing yards, fetching groceries from the store etc.
Showing them how they could run a paper route to make money to pay for great hobbies and also win prizes. How to buy products from wholesalers like Watkins and Amway then resell for profit. Even how to form a club to protect your family, friends and town from criminals.
I tried to show them anything that would teach them the power of earning by helping others get things they wanted.
The flaw to it all was that I missed was my own mother’s jealousy and her need for me to be totally subservient to her or else, like she was with the predators she chose to be subservient to.

The “or else” finally came and at 16 they threw me out onto the street.
Keeping so busy at loving and living life I didn’t see it coming, but I found out later from a therapist that I was then already yearning for a childhood of my own.

In hindsight, my focus on the goals I had of becoming as good of a behavioral scientist as I could be, never let me realize the damage that was being done to me.
Turns out that many people liked me showing them how great America was, including to be able on any day or at any time just get going and make some money and build a future.
My focus on human behavior also blinded me to the fact that there had been a backlash against them making me homeless at 16. I say them because by then they had formed a kind of hate club against me. I had become someone for them to rob and lie about.
As I now have had time to put it all together. It turns out that besides me becoming someone for them to rob, they had been lying to and about me for over 50 years. What kind of Karma does that bring? Whew
There you have it, tidbits of a life of real adventure. What is the moral of the story?
The power that is available to you if you find yourself, not the mirror image, but the self that subtly grinds at you telling you that you are supposed to be doing this or that. It is power that will bring you freedom, success and a satisfaction that very few people ever achieve.
And remember, there is a real possibility that the closer you get to the edge, and if you want to do something great for mankind, you go past the edge. The Yin and Yang of Karma could kick in and throw obstacles in your way. Some can be devastating, be ready…move on! And be reminded that “God never throws more at you than you can handle.”
